Sand Casting
Where Process Meets Practical Production
Sand casting is used where efficiency, repeatability, and cost control drive the process. It is well suited for producing molds, patterns, and medium-scale components, and is especially effective for reliefs and plaques where surface depth and form can be captured without the need for complex tooling. We work across aluminum, cast iron, and bronze sand casting, selecting materials based on strength, finish, and application. We utilize both 3D printed tooling and CNC’d tooling to develop accurate patterns and molds, allowing for fast iteration and consistent results. Gating systems are designed to control metal flow, shrinkage, and cooling behavior across pours. This process allows for flexibility in design and quick turnaround, making it ideal for iterative work and functional components. Post-cast, we handle cleanup, machining, and surface refinement to bring parts to specification. This includes removing gates and risers, correcting tolerances, and preparing surfaces for finishing or integration. The result is a reliable, production-ready component with a focus on efficiency and practicality.
